Dr Hyatt Frobose

Serves as the Commercial Director – North America for JYGA (JEE-gah) Technologies, Inc., a Quebec-based company producing GESTAL (jess-TALL) brand precision feeding systems for the swine industry. Hyatt specializes in assisting swine producers with group-housing solutions and nutritional programs to optimize performance and welfare of sows and growing pigs in commercial environments. Dr. Frobose has been a featured speaker and specialist working with producers around the world in adopting new technologies and adapting to increased animal welfare standards.

In 2023, Hyatt was awarded the Early Career Agribusiness Award by the American Society of Animal Science. In his role with JYGA, Hyatt has assisted with the design or renovation of over 300 sow farms representing over 500,000 sows. Dr. Frobose and his family are based in Greeley, KS and are actively involved in their church, local 4-H programs and seedstock Gelbvieh cow/calf operation.

Brett Ramirez

Is an Associate Professor in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering at Iowa State University. His work focuses on advancing innovative engineering solutions for livestock and poultry production systems. He is dedicated to both research and extension, mentoring students and contributing to the development of future engineers as well as supporting producers with their day-to-day challenges.

His scholarship spans interdisciplinary areas that connect engineering and agriculture. Through his academic and professional efforts, he aims to improve the efficiency and resilience of modern agricultural practices.

Suzanne Leonard

Is an agricultural engineer and works on developing and utilizing technologies, sensors, and data to improve livestock production. Dr. Leonard received her B.S in Biological Engineering at NC State. She then went on to earn her PhD in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering from Iowa State University.

She specializes in commercial swine production with a focus on ventilation, facilities, and management systems. Dr. Leonard also works with emerging and precision livestock technologies
